Beacon of Freedom Award Winners
What does Phyllis Haislip and Avi have in common? They are both writers of juvenile historical fiction and they have both been awarded the Williamsburg Regional Library's pretigious Beacon of Freedom Award for a book they have authored. Phyllis received the award in 2005 for "Lottie's Courage" and Avi received the award in 2009 for "Iron Thunder".
